In a creative masterstroke, one-time Steve Vai collaborator (and the force behind Strapping Young Lad) Devin Townsend presents ZILTOID THE OMNISCIENT. The self-parodying sci-fi concept album uses Devin's composing as a backdrop for the humorous and dramatic tale. An extra-terrestrial creature (Ziltoid) travels to earth to raid the planet for its most precious natural resource (in this case coffee). Comedic value aside, the music is impressive, with all vocals and instruments tackled by Townsend (including the programming of extremely complex drum parts).
