Dan Tyminksi, longtime guitarist for Alison Krauss & Union Station, is the most famous bluegrass musician you've never heard of. (He was the ghost singer for George Clooney in O BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU? and thus single-handedly responsible for the 2000s bluegrass revival.) His second solo album, WHEELS, finds Tyminski's warm, friendly singing complemented by the voices of O BROTHER cohorts the Whites as well as Vince Gill. This latest session also pursues a strictly contemporary bluegrass sound, with original tunes that mix a touch of pop and modern country into the mix, but there's still plenty of hot picking to satisfy fans of Tyminski's work with Union Station.
