Besides accompanying singers like Ella Fitzgerald and Chris Connor on their debut LPs, the great pianist Larkins also recorded several duo sessions with the trumpeter Ruby Braff, one of which was this 1956 Rodgers & Hart collection. These are two master jazz melodists at their best and exceptional musical partners, Braff's forcefully blunt statements cushioned by Larkin's exquisite touch and harmonic sophistication.
