Singer/songwriter Johnny Nash is best known for the reggae/pop hybrid, I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW, which propelled him to international acclaim in the early-1970s. Though American born and raised, Nash's parents were Carribbean emigrants, and the cross-cultural influence enhanced the singer/songwriter/producer's eclectic songwriting and production aesthetic. Early collaborations with then unknown Jamaican songwriter, Bob Marley, paved the way for Nash's career as one of the most eclectic African-American singer/songwriters of his generation. THE REGGAE COMPILATION is a look into Nash's skills as a songwriter/producer and highlights his career as a reggae recording artist. The compilation also contains previously unreleased and alternate takes of his known hits.
