Performer Notes
  • Solo performer: Reverend Billy C. Wirtz (piano, vocals).
  • Recorded live at The Brewery, Raleigh, North Carolina on October 7 & 8, 1993.
  • All songs written or co-written by Reverend Billy C. Wirtz except "Big Jess" (Jimmy Dean).
  • Now here's an hour of serious fun, often in bad taste. Rev. Billy C. Wirtz has been entertaining audiences with a series of redneck spoof numbers for some years. This live album is no change from that approach, with a selection of songs that go after everything from new age weirdness to Barney (the hilarious "The King Got a Day Job") to drunk headbangers in clubs. Being a live album, it comes with between-songs patter, which adds to the overall fun. Not to everyone's taste, but there are some hysterically funny moments. ~ Steven McDonald
