For the soundtrack to THE NAMESAKE, the 2007 film adaptation of Jhumpa Lahiri's acclaimed novel, director Mira Nair enlisted London-based composer/DJ Nitin Sawhney to create the movie's score. Largely a blend of electronica and Indian folk music, the inventive collection, which also features Susheela Raman, effectively evokes the film's meeting-of-cultures theme, as best revealed on the atmospheric "The Namesake Reprise."
