This wide-ranging sampler from the venerable Chicago blues label Alligator Records features tracks by some of the genre's foremost artists, including the Texas blues of Albert Collins, W.C. Clark, and Long John Hunter, veteran Chicago musicians such as Lonnie Brooks and Luther Allison, and younger performers such as the Arkansas musician Michael Burks and the Buffalo guitarist Lucky Peterson.
