This is billed as "a collection of Yanni favorites," and fans of this popular pianist should be pleased with the selections; they are a fine sampling of his work. "In the Mirror" is a delicate solo piano piece, a musical cascade full of lush arpeggios. "In the Morning Light" is an exploration of a simple melodic theme. Yanni has a soft touch, and every track shows his tender approach to music-making. "Forbidden Dreams" kicks things up to a slightly higher level of energy, as Yanni uses a more synthesized, techno approach, and "Chasing Shadows" continues in that vein; a textured, electronic tapestry, both compelling and slyly powerful. For his fans, this is a sure bet.
