  • Liner Note Author: Alfie Falckenbach.
  • Recording information: Australia (1969-1981); Kaleidoscope, Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, CA (1969-1981).
  • This two-disc live set offers a unique look at the West Coast's premier blues-rockers Canned Heat. The first disc contains the 1968 concert previously released as Live at the Topanga Corral (though it was actually recorded elsewhere), and features the original lineup at its peak. The second disc offers up a latter-day version of the band performing in Australia; led by new singer/guitarist Walter Trout, they're quite different from the early days of Canned Heat, but they still keeps the blues close to their hearts. ~ Jim Allen
