  • This is a perfectly serviceable (albeit hardly definitive) nine song Cheap Trick sampler (beware the incorrect track listing: the album does not start, as listed, with the band's greatest number "Surrender," but rather with the title tune, heard here in its less familiar studio version).
  • In any case, everything else here is a treat, from the ABBEY ROAD-ish "Heaven Tonight" to the Who-ish "Dream Police" to an absolutely stupendous live version of "Day Tripper." The band's inventive mix of Anglo-pop/rock influences (these guys probably have Move albums imprinted on them at the cellular level) and American attitude is irresistible.
