  • To call Louisiana/Texas legend Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown a blues player would be an oversimplification. He based his career on breaking down boundaries between blues, Cajun music, country, and more. Brown started out at the tail end of the 1940s, but his career enjoyed a revival in the early '80s when he began recording for Rounder Records. This short-but-effective sampler of his music centers around Brown's Rounder period, and allows a glimpse into the full breadth of this eclectic multi-instrumentalist's expansive musical universe.
