After frontman Ian Hunter and guitarist Mick Ronson left Mott the Hoople in 1974, the remaining members incredibly decided to continue the band, shortening the name to Mott, and bringing in new recruits Ray Major and Nigel Benjamin. This live album captures that version of the group in concert, shedding new light on a fascinating, little-known chapter in Hoople history. It should be noted that most of the set avoids the original band's signature songs, relegating most of the few Mott classics on the list to medleys, most likely out of self-consciousness about living up to the recent past.
