Rounder's budget-priced Bluegrass Number One Hits collection follows the rules set out by its moniker to the letter. All 12 tracks have indeed sat atop the contemporary bluegrass charts, and the playlist, which includes Alison Krauss, Rhonda Vincent, the Grascals, Doyle Alexander & Quicksilver, and Dailey & Vincent, reads like an awards night recap. Brief as it may be, stalwart fans of traditional bluegrass will have a hard time sticking to their guns after a couple spins of this little gem. ~ James Christopher Monger
