Even after his brother Sonny decided to retire, Osborne Brothers singer/mandolinist Bobby Osborne gamely continued carrying on the journey he began back in the early 1950s. With his Rocky Top X-Press band, he pursues a sound that's still deeply rooted in the bluegrass tradition, but allows for growth. BLUEGRASS & BEYOND is a mix of traditional tunes, original songs that stick close to Osborne's roots, and high-lonesome takes on such songs as the Eagles' "Girl From Yesterday" and Eddie Rabbitt's "Drivin' My Life Away," all delivered with the same uncompromising mountain soul that's made Osborne a legend for so long.
