Synopsis

In the 50s and 60s Aussie sporting legends Dawn Fraser, Lionel Rose and John Landy rose to the pinnacle of their respective sporting professions, often in the face of great adversity. Here are their stories... Dawn Dawn Fraser won four gold medals at three Olympics (1956, '60 and '64). This outstanding biographical drama explores Fraser's life before and after her competitive years, from her upbringing in working-class Balmain to her rise to swimming immortality. Rose Against The Odds The classic tale of one of Australia's greatest and most charismatic sportsmen, boxer Lionel Rose. In 1968, 19 year old Rose emerged from poverty and obscurity to become world bantamweight champion. This is the tale of one man's gift, not only in the ring, but to Australian sporting folklore. Four Minute Mile It was the sporting equivalent of conquering Everest, running the mile in less than four minutes. In 1954, Australia's John Landy and England's Roger Bannister emerged as frontrunners to break the milestone, starting one of sport's great rivalries leading to their epic showdown in 'The Race of the Century'.
