Henrietta McKervey was born in Belfast. She worked as an advertising and design copywriter for several years, but only began writing fiction while on maternity leave. She completed an MFA in Creative Writing at UCD in 2014.Henrietta was the winner of the inaugural Maeve Binchy Travel Award, which was created to fund a travel opportunity that would enhance creative writing, in 2014, and explored the sea areas of BBC Radio 4's The Shipping Forecast in a piece called The General Synopsis at Midnight.Henrietta lives in Dublin with her husband and two young children.
