About the Author

D. A. Danielson received a B.S. degr ee in mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the M.S./Ph.D. degrees in appli ed mathematics from Harvard University. He has bee n a professor at the University of Virginia, the U niversity of California, San Diego, and the Naval Postgraduate School. His research interests curren tly include buckling/vibration of structures and o rbits of satellites.
