About the Author

Andrew Rule has written about some of the biggest Australian crimes of the last 30 years and lived to tell the tale. Born in far eastern Victoria, he broke into journalism in Gippsland in the 1970s. Since then he has worked as a journalist for The Age and the Herald Sun and as a radio and television producer. After the success of his first true crime book, Cuckoo, he conspired with John Silvester to publish the Chopper series and Underbelly books. He has won the Gold Walkley, the Graham Perkin Journalist of the Year award (twice) and eight Quill awards. Currently, Andrew is associate editor and columnist for the Herald Sun and crime correspondent for Melbourne's Triple M breakfast radio. John Silvester began as a crime reporter in Melbourne in 1979 with The Sun and Herald Sun before moving to The Age in 1993. He has won two Walkleys, seven Quills and nine Victorian Law Foundation awards. In 2006, he and Andrew Rule received the Ned Kelly lifetime achievement award for true crime writing. John was judged the 2007 Graham Perkin Journalist of the Year. He has written, edited and published more than 30 crime books (in conjunction with Andrew Rule) including the Chopper and Underbelly series, which have sold more than 1 million copies.
