The most endearing crew of rapscallions I've met in awhile. These
54 pirates succeed in their quest for gold and jewels but come to
realize that the most valuable treasures are reading, writing, and
family. A great read-aloud for an audience too young for Treasure
Island with more nail-biting adventure than Swiss Family Robinson.
--Summer Dawn Laurie, Books Inc. This exciting homage to literacy
masquerading as a rollicking pirate adventure will not only keep
readers' interest, but make them eager to seek more treasures found
in books. --Yapha Nussbaum Mason, School Librarian and two-time
member of the Newbery Medal Selection Committee A clever,
laugh-out-loud pirate story unlike any I've read! --Robin Bernheim,
writer/producer of Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: The Next
Generation
