Ross Thomas (1926-1995) was the author of over twenty thrillers. His debut novel, The Cold War Swap, won the Edgar Award in 1967 for Best First Novel. In 2002, he was posthumously awarded the inaugural Gumshoe Lifetime Achievement Award.
