About the Author

Sherri Waas Shunfenthal is a Northern Virginia poet and liturgical writer. This is her third published book of poetry. Her first book, Sacred Voices: Women of Genesis Speak (Pocol Press) delighted people of many religious backgrounds by presenting poetry with new insight into the women of Genesis. Sherri's second book, Journey into Healing (Pocol Press) includes poetry, meditations and journal writing activities about women in the Torah. Sherri has spoken and presented readings at synagogues, churches, women's groups and retreats, book groups, and community colleges. The poems of Seasons of Prayer can be used for reflection before the holidays, at life cycle events such as weddings or Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, or in the liturgy at synagogues.
