his grand JESSYE NORMAN: SINGER, a definitive BBC Omnibus portrait
of this powerful Diva, to the elegant originality of his dance
masterpiece TO A WOMAN'S HEART.

Hokusai's Japan in THE GREAT WAVE to the killing fields of the
American Civil War in the BATTLE OF SHILOH.
Nawashi Murakawa: I describe Japanese rope bondage as an art form. That's how I see it. But others see it differently. For myself I don't see it as a thing to control people. I'm a facilitator. And bringing something to the person I'm working with. Amy Morgan: The performance with Rope Marks and Dutch Dame was really fantastic. When he ripped that dress off and she was fully nude and exposed, it was so erotic and utterly different from the other performances that I had seen. The aerobics that she was able to bring out were utterly amazing. Midori: We focus a lot on the beautiful suffering of women. What the Westerner might see as delicate suffering of a vulnerable, submissive woman -- uh uh, don't get that wrong. Because that's all about a feminine form of power and strength. A woman that is so strong that she can endure all this.
