Reviews

"It gently catches the reader by the throat, achieving an effect not unlike that of John Williams's classic Stoner (1965)... None So Blind is a towering achievement, of grace, humility, seductive simplicity and wisdom, a landmark Spanish novel."-Eileen Battersby, The Irish Times; "In this moving and ambitious English language debut, set in present-day Spain, Gonzalez Sainz constructs a portrait of a man caught between tradition and modernity, and between opposing cultures... The rich descriptions of nature often reflect the mood and motivations of the characters. This is an intelligent and understated existential novel."-Publishers Weekly; "A magnificent novel, a profound and inspiring text that resolves itself with the apparent simplicity that only comes with technical mastery."-Pablo Martinez Zarracina, El Correo Espanol; "A beautiful novel that takes us into the world of conflicting points of view, of ethics and aesthetics, of moral turpitude in politics ... the unmistakable and diaphanous echo of a great story that makes no concession to the gallery."-A. M. Salazar, Deia; "One of those books that stays in your memory for a long time after reading."-Ramon Jimenez, La Opinion de Murcia
