About the Author

Moises Agosto-Rosario. San Juan, Puerto Rico, 1965. Narrator, poet and a longtime treatment advocate and educator for people living with HIV and AIDS. His poems and stories have been published in several literary magazines and anthologies in Puerto Rico, USA and Latin America. He has published Poemas de la logica inmune (1991) Poesia de Puerto Rico: Cinco decadas (1950-2000), Poesia el Mundo (1950-2000), Mapa Callejero: Cronicas sobre lo gay desde America latina, (Argentina 2010), and Cartografias Queer (2010). In 2007 he made his debut as narrator with his short story collection Nocturno y otros desamparos (Terranova Editores) and his work was included in the short stories anthology and En el ojo del huracan (Puerto Rico, 2011). As an educator and activist Agosto-Rosario has served on numerous community, industry, and government advisory boards, including the Health and Human Services National Task Force on AIDS Drug Development; the board of the Forum for Collaborative AIDS Research; and the ACTG Community Constituency Group, the Ad Hoc Minority Research Group of the Office of AIDS Research Advisory Council and the Research Advisory Committee of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, among others.
