The late Mr. Wiseman is also the author and illustrator of two other stories about Morris: Morris and Boris at the Circus and Morris Goes to School.
K-Gr 2 Wiseman is back with another humorous Morris (the moose) and Boris (the bear) book. Emerging readers will laugh heartily, delighted with their inside knowledge that Morris is misunderstanding both language (taking it too literally) and the roles of the circus performers. With the ringmaster's permission, Morris makes unsuccessful attempts at bareback (``Bear-back'') riding, animal training, acrobatics, etc. However, Morris does well as a ``Funny Clown,'' when he is chased by Boris across seven wordless pages. The cartoon illustrations with bold colors provide ample context clues for beginning readers. This delightful combination of text and illustrations will entice children to read and re-read this book.
