About the Author

Throughout his adult life Robert Stedall has been fascinated by genealogy. He is the curator of the popular www.maryqueenofscots.net and author of _The Challenge to the Crown_ and _The Survival of the Crown_, a ground-breaking two-volume history of Mary Queen of Scots and her son, James VI of Scotland. He has written _Mary Queen of Scots' Downfall_, _The Roots of Ireland's Troubles_ and _Elizabeth I's Secret Lover_ for Pen and Sword.
