About the Author

David H. Friedman, M.D., graduated summa cum laude with membership in Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, San Diego. After receiving his medical degree from UCLA, he completed a residency in Dermatology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Friedman is in private practice in Northridge, CA and is also a Clinical Professor at USC. He has been teaching skin surgery to Dermatology Residents first at Harbor-UCLA beginning in 1986, then in the USC Department of Dermatology since 1996. He has been awarded the Outstanding Surgery Teaching Award on several occasions. Dr. Friedman has also served as president of the San Fernando Valley Dermatological Society. Payam Saadat, M.D., graduated magna cum laude from California State University, Northridge. After receiving his medical degree and graduating with highest distinction from USC, he completed a residency in Dermatology at the LAC-USC Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Saadat is in private practice in Los Angeles, CA and is also an Assistant Professor at USC. He also teaches skin surgery to the Residents in the USC Department of Dermatology.
