About the Author

Jasmine NToutome was born in Japan to a Jamaican mother and a Gabonese father and spent her formative years in Jamaica. She taught elementary school in Jamaica and Japan and has worked as a freelance writer and an English editor for an international magazine. Her poetry has appeared in various publications in Jamaica, Japan and Canada. She is currently working on another children's book set in Jamaica. Noriko Freedman is a Japanese illustrator currently living in England.
