A hilarious epic comedy by British playwright Peter Oswald, inspired by the Latin novel Metamorphoses of Apuleius, this new play premiered at Shakespeare's Globe theatre.
Peter Oswald was born in England in 1965. His original plays include the verse plays 'Allbright' and 'Valadonama', and 'Fair Ladies At A Game Of Poem Cards', 'Augustine's Oak', 'Ramayana', and 'Sha Kuntala'. He has also adapted plays by Sophocles and Lorca.
Oswald's verse is deliciously rich and allusive, and he swings
between tragedy and farce with breathtaking aplomb...Long may it
reign.
