About the Author

Queenbala Marak is an anthropologist by training. She has a BA (Hons), MA, and PhD in Anthropology. Her interests mainly lie in the anthropology of food – from the prehistoric past to the present. She is at present working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology, North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong, India.
