A funny action adventure story for kids – “a delight” SUNDAY TIMES
Iona Rangeley grew up in Norfolk and studied English at Oxford,
where she developed a love of children's books. She has wanted to
be a writer since her debut novel, Sam and the Pig, which she wrote
when she was five.
David Tazzyman is an internationally acclaimed award-wining
illustrator. Born and raised in Leicester, David wanted to be an
artist since the age of five. Graduating from Manchester
Metropolitan University in 1993, he worked as a commercial
illustrator before falling into children's publishing in 2006,
illustrating Andy Stanton's Mr Gum series, which went on to win
numerous awards, including the first Roald Dahl Funny Prize. David
likes drawing a lot. He also likes football, cricket, golf and
biscuits.
This debut novel is a delight. Its wit and observation put it in
the tradition of Eva Ibbotson and Hilary McKay. Full of unexpected
phrases and illustrated with just the right degree of freedom and
quirkiness, this is a real discovery. A joy to read aloud

The Stewarts never could have guessed that a day trip to the zoo
would mean they’d end up sharing their house with a penguin, let
alone the amazing mystery that follows. Will appeal to fans of
Paddington.
