Reviews

"Only when you're grown up do you see the shape of the stage and which pieces of scenery were moving during your childhood and the vital episodes beyond. How we learn, what we learn and what we share take forever to grasp. The generosity of this book, a personal compendium - as much of experience as of political landscapes - is a marvellous handrail through the architecture of education." - Richard Wentworth, Artist "Felicity Allen has curated a rich and varied selection of writings on contemporary art and education that will undoubtedly be a valuable and generative resource for the field." - Wendy Woon, Edward John Noble Foundation Deputy Director for Education, Museum of Modern Art, New York "... [B]rings together a wide range of material and emphasizes the complexity of education and its relations to art practice. The inclusion of political, feminist, philosophical and narrative voices makes this an essential reader for artists, educators and those who believe in the importance an value of art in wider socio-political contexts." - Sally Tallant, Head of Programmes, Serpentine Gallery, London
