About the Author

A. Nicholas Fargnoli is a professor of theology and English at Molloy College in Rockville Centre, New York. He is president of the James Joyce Society and founder of the Finnegans Wake Society of New York. He is the author of James Joyce's Classic Moments; the coauthor of On Moral Grounds: The Art/Science of Ethics and Critical Companion to William Faulkner, forthcoming from Facts On File; and He the editor of James Joyce: A Documentary Volume. Michael Patrick Gillespie is the Louise Edna Goeden Professor of English at Marquette University. He has published books on the works of James Joyce, Oscar Wilde, and William Kennedy, and on the use of chaos theory in literary interpretation. He is the editor of the Norton Critical Editions of The Importance of Being Earnest and The Picture of Dorian Gray.
