About the Author

Pat Averill considers herself primarily self-taught, although she has attended an array of workshops and seminars on oil, watercolour, and coloured pencil. She considers the way she figuratively inhales the colours, values, and shapes she observes around her to be an integral part of her artistic process. To her, the creation of art is based on a combination of life experiences and the artist's reaction to the subject matter.
