About the Author

Donna Campbell Smith has a degree in equine technology. She is a certified riding instructor and served many years as a Master NC 4-H Horse Program Volunteer. She is a freelance writer, author of three children's historical novels, and The Book of Draft Horses: The Gentle Giants that Built the World. Bruce Curtis is an award-winning photographer whose work has appeared in TIME, Life, Sports Illustrated, and National Geographic.
