About the Author

Rob Ainsley did maths at Oxford and took Norman Tebbit's advice of the time: he got on his bike and looked for work, but found he liked cycling more than work. He has cycled all over the UK and more than 30 other countries, and can shout at taxi drivers in four languages. Rob is a regular contributor to Cycle magazine and Cycling Plus, wrote 50 Quirky Bike Rides, blogs (www.realcycling.co.uk) and tweets (@realcycling).

Reviews

'The Bluffer's Guides present the means to apparent instant erudition without actually having to know or study anything.' THE DAILY MAIL 'An amazing amount of solid fact disguised as frivolous observation.' THE SUNDAY TELEGRAPH 'A series which threatens to undermine the proper foundations of knowledge.' TODAY 'Funnier than anything Lance Armstrong ever wrote. And certainly much truer.' -- Jack Thurston Presenter, The Bike Show 'Cycling is a beautifully simple activity that enthusiasts love to overcomplicate. Rob Ainsley redresses the balance.' -- Dan Joyce Editor, CYCLE (CTC Magazine) 'When I began cycling in the '70s the only book on the subject was Richard's Bicycle Book, which had a large section on the best way to kill dogs who impeded your progress. This book is lacking that, but in all other respects it is a very funny and useful guide to the world of cycling.' Alexei Sayle, Actor, Comedian and Author
