An essential reference guide to WWI aircraft with over 200 profile artworks
Jack Herris is a former US Navy aviator with a degree in aeronautical engineering. A noted aviation historian specialising in World War I aircraft. He contributes regularly to Over the Front, the journal of the League of World War I Aviation Historians, as well as other publications. He is the author of several books including Pfalz Aircraft WWI and SPAD Two-Seaters of WWI.
It is interesting to see the amazing progress of aircraft design in
eight years from the flimsy Bleriot to the fast, well armed
fighting aircraft at the end of the book... look out for the
amazing colour schemes.

Happily, the new volume in `The Essential Aircraft Identification
Guide’ series draws on the latest research to cover various World
War I airplanes and airships in full colour... Herris and Pearson
have created a worthy successor to the `Harleyford’ volumes. It is
highly recommended. …
