Dr. Simon Yu, MD combines internal medicine with integrative medicine at Prevention and Healing, Inc., in St. Louis, Missouri. He has an M.D. from the University of Missouri School of Medicine, an M.S. through a joint program at Washington University Medical Center and University of Missouri-St. Louis, and a B.S. from Washington University. Dr. Yu worked as a regional medical director at a large health maintenance organization (HMO) medical group in Missouri for 10 years, and served as a medical officer in the U.S. Army Reserve for 25 years, retiring as a full colonel. Dr. Yu experienced first-hand the limits of Western medicine's and HMO health systems' medication-management approach to patients with cancer and chronic diseases. He began studying integrative and complementary medicine, opened Prevention and Healing, Inc. in St. Louis, and took 300 hours of medical acupuncture training at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Yu is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is a member of the American College of Physicians. He serves on the board of the International College of Integrative Medicine (ICIM), and is active in many integrative medical organizations. Dr. Yu lectures across the United States and around the world, and has studied Biological Medicine extensively in Europe. Dr. Yu has been honored to give presentations in connection with Medicine Week in Germany, and offers Special Training on Acupuncture Meridian Assessment (AMA) for doctors, dentists and health professionals. He writes a monthly newsletter, and has nearly 200 articles on his website. He thanks his many patients, and colleagues who together are shaping the practice and science of medicine and dentistry to address the root causes of cancer and chronic diseases, helping patients to restore a healthy immune system, and regain their health.
