From UK knitting magazines to big international yarn brands, you
can find Jo Allport s knitwear designs in many places. She also
teaches knitting face to face, online and via tutorials. A lover of
all crafts and a prolific writer on the subject, she is a regular
contributor to Knitting magazine and Let s Knit. This is her first
book.
Jo has been designing knitwear for over 12 years, but this has not
been her only career. Starting in the oil industry and then moving
into IT after that, she brings many other disciplines to her work.
Her love of working with people, attention to detail and, most of
all, her creativity, have all led her to her current passion,
knitting. Follow her on Instagram and find her designs on Ravelry.

My "hat" goes off to you Jo Allport for this brilliant idea of
creating your own design combos. 10,000 Knitted hats is a book that
gives one an opportunity to design their own hat. Simply flip
over the pages to choose your favorite and start to knit. I love
this concept! As a knitting designer, I love having options and
this book definitely gave a variety of unique and clever ideas. ...
I've never seen a knitting book published this way. Also, the
illustrations were well done. I highly recommend this book.
*Sweetly Made Just for You blog*
The book is aimed at complete beginners or slightly more advanced
knitters and all of the patterns are worked in double knitting
wool. … a good starting off point for those who want to create
their own designs.
*SlipKnot magazine*
10,000 Knitted Hats is a fun and clever flip-page instruction and
'how to' book that is specifically for designing and building your
own unique headwear creations. Unique and thoroughly 'user
friendly' in organization and presentation, 10,000 Knitted Hats is
a knitter's delight and unreservedly recommended...
*Mid-West Book Review*
What a perfect book for hat lovers. It is really easy to use and
the knitter can have great fun choosing their mix and match
patterns... I like the fact that you can use any DK yarn that
matches the tension - a great opportunity to use stash for some of
the projects. The patterns give you the opportunity to try out
different stitches, lace, cable, textured to name a few. The
photographs really help to make your decision. The hats are all for
adults and the cast on sts are the same except for the cable
sideways brim. Have fun flicking through photos until you find your
favourite.
