Hey, I've got a brilliant idea; I'm going to remake Psycho, you know, that classic Alfred Hitchcock film that totally doesn't need to be remade. But there's no way I could make it any better, so I'll make it exactly the same, shot for shot, word for word, but in colour, cause only the good films are in colour! That way, if any of the cast need help with their lines, I can just play them the original movie! There's no way it can go wrong! In fact, my idea is so brilliant it's retarded.

Marion Crane steals a lot of cash from a man whom her boss is in business with. On the way to see her boyfriend, she stops off by an old motel, run by the odd Norman Bates. She is murdered in the shower. Her sister, boyfriend, and a private investigator try to find out where she is, while we learn more about Norman Bates.

this is a pretty similar remake to the old one, execpt it just starred some interesting people, such as suprisingly vince vaughn! but this still carried the creepiness of the original, its hard to find another person so weirdly creepy as norman bates. some good scenes, such as the shower one, this film doesnt disappoint, although it is similar.

i thought this movie was one of the dumbest horror movie i had ever seen. it was not even scary and it was totally boring. i supose you might like it id you dont like your horro movies to be scary, umm i would give it a zero out of ten, thought it was quite rubbish!!

virtually identical to the original in story. i wasnt at all sure why they bothered to be honest. its exactly the same! even the dated dialogue remains the same.

Obviously the original is a complete masterpeice.... and maybe they should have left it that way....

like anything... i suggest seeing the original. it has a bit more of that creep air to it that you just cant get from any other norman bates that anthony hopkins.

This is just before Vince Vaughn became a mega star, even though he had already done his best performance of his career in Swingers. He is another good addition to the line up of actors who have played the infamous Norman Bates, and this remake stays true to the original. Not of the same calibre naturally but still a good story line
