This story describes with its words and bright-colored (sometimes amusing) illustrations the unique experiences of being a middle child in a family. The story points out both the advantages and disadvantages of being in the middle, but it ends on a pleasant note. Happiness abounds in Zack's family and middle children will have fun as they discover, along with Zack, that "being in the middle is just right."
