Judith Jacobs began her career in mathematics education professional development with the Madison Project in the mid-1960s. She has been the principal investigator on numerous projects and has worked with teachers of mathematics at all levels -- elementary, middle, and high school -- as well as with university faculty. Her research area focuses on equity issues in mathematics, and she incorporates those concerns in all her professional development activities. She began her career as a junior high school teacher and has subsequently taught high school mathematics and both content and methods courses for elementary and secondary mathematics teachers at various universities.
