The Brave Fireman By Karen Carmody on October 21, 2014 This is a wonderful book. I found out about it at just the right time. I am getting ready to do a post on firefighters and I'm definitely including this book (and the series). I love the sound words, "clang, clang", "snap, snap", "vroom, vroom" and more. Kids love when special sounds are added to a story. I like the use of technical terms without making the story difficult to understand: turnout coat, smoke inhalation, etc. Children love learning new "big" words. I can't wait to read more of this wonderful series. For my first Grandson By Aloha Star on February 20, 2014 I can't wait to share this book series with my first grandson. The writing is perfect for both boys and girls. Best of all each book has a moral that will make a child strive to be a better person. Keep the stories coming Mr. Brewster. The world needs more books like these. This is such a fun children's book By Carrie on October 19, 2014 Meet Rocky Hill, the newest firefighter on the crew. This is such a fun children's book. After years of telling his sons made-up stories of a firefighter named Uncle Rocky, the author decided it was time to put the stories in print. And I am so glad he did! Now I can share these delightful stories with my boys. The first book introduces us to Uncle Rocky and his role as a firefighter. There is even an action sequence the author encourages your child to participate in--from the Clang, clang, clang of the bell which they imitate to the putting on of the "bunker gear." How fast can your children do it? In addition to the great stories, the book features wonderful illustrations. My boys enjoy looking at the pictures just as much as hearing the story. I look forward to reading many more of these stories and re-reading them over and over. There is also a website www.gladtodoit.net where you can find coloring sheets to correspond with the stories. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Uncle Rocky By Penny McGuire on October 27, 2014 I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Uncle Rocky, the new fireman. Rocky shows children how important it is to be organized and to help others in need. Kids of all ages (even me!) enjoy hearing all of the different noises of a fire truck. I can't wait to pass the books along to my grandsons to read. It tugged at my heartstrings to know that he rescued the baby and all he could say was, "Glad to do it!". I believe will let children realize that you don't need to get something in return for helping others. Looking forward to reading more of his books! Uncle Rocky Fireman Fire By Karen C Riley on November 10, 2014 Uncle rocky fireman fire was an excellent read for all ages. This has interactions for the children and they love this type of thing. The noises of the fire truck is good for the children. I would highly recommend this book. I received a copy for an honest review.
