About the Author

Miriam Dervan is the founder and CEO of MDE Services Group Ltd. She is the CEO of MD Events Ltd; a leading global life sciences and corporate specialist meeting planning and patient service agency. She is also the founder and CEO of MD Travel and MD Recruitment. Miriam’s career spans over 25 years in the clinical research arena. She started MD Events Ltd from her bedroom in January 2002, growing it into a multimillion dollar global organisation that has managed more than $220 million since it was established. Miriam has travelled the world gaining immense experience in business management, cultural diversity and leadership. She has long been a champion and thought leader for women in business and women owned businesses. She is on the European Women’s Enterprise Council, which plays a big part in supporting women in business. Through everything she does Miriam is passionate about entrepreneurship and her desire is to encourage free enterprise amongst pupils, students and young people in business.
