In 2015, Regine Fanning celebrated 75 years of service to God as a member of the Religious Sisters of Mercy of the Americas. Her work has encompassed teaching student of all ages, creating educational materials, leading retreats, serving as a Pastoral Associate, and a Spiritual Companion. Her work and ministry serve as the inspiration for her writing. A Master of Arts from Mundelein College, A Master of Education from University of Illinois and a Master of Applied Spirituality from Xavier University in San Francisco supported her continuing efforts. A published poet, Regine won first prize in a California State Poetry contest as well as recognition in several other contests. Her work has appeared in Penwood Review, California State Poetry Society Publications, The Oak, The Shepherd, The Mast and The Thomas Merton Institute Collection. Several of Regine's children's books have been published, the most recent, Circles of Joy, a book about the psalms for children not about children. Sister Regine continues to serve the Lord with gladness and use her gifts to inspire others. She resides in Chicago.
