There are certain quilt patterns that are more popular than others
– pinwheels has to be a universal favourite. This book provides the
quilter with eight pinwheel patterns for all skill levels. You get
quilting basics; the patterns with superb quality photos; clear
instructions and pattern piecing on a pull out sheet. For each
pattern, there is skill level, finished quilt size, number of
blocks needed, materials, block diagrams, project notes, cutting
and block construction and assembly. That means anyone can follow
these patterns. There’s a tutorial on sewing curved pieces plus one
on reducing bulk in centres and one on making flying geese as well
as paper piecing and applique. I love the pattern on the front
cover, Pinwheel Baby based on a Drunkard’s Path turned into a
pinwheel, Serenity and Flutter Pinwheels. So I would make at least
half of the quilts. This book is good value for money.
