A lesson plan handbook that helps teachers and parents guide high-stress and hyperactive students to a more mindful life.
Wellness Works in Schools, created by Rick and Midge Kinder,
responds to contemporary educational challenges by helping students
develop the needed skills to address important issues like stress,
mental health, emotional balance, behavior, and learning readiness.
Taught by founders Midge (MAT, RYT), Rick, (MBA, RYT) and daughter,
Wynne -- – a private and inner-city public school teacher of 17
years, in many diverse educational and community settings, Wellness
Works in Schools is an innovative health and wellness program based
on mindfulness principles and practices.
Wellness Works has gained local, national, and international
recognition with articles appearing in The New York Times, TIME for
Kids, Child Mind Institute, (NYC), Lancaster, PA newspapers, and an
international edition of National Geographic. In addition to
it’s many in-school programs, Wellness Works has presented at the
Annual Conference of the UMass Medical School’s Center for
Mindfulness, Garrison Institute’s Discussion Forum for cultivating
awareness and concentration in the classroom, the Mindful Institute
of Canada, Yoga Services Conference, and the PA Department of
Education’s alternative education conference.
