About the Author

Robert A. Bisson is CEO of Earthwater Technology International. He founded and managed water development companies on four continents and has explored the world for oil, gas, minerals, and water for over thirty-five years. He first discovered and documented megawatersheds in Africa’s rift region in the 1980s, and he designed and managed the projects summarized as case studies in this book. Robert Bisson is widely published and is a Fellow of the Explorers Club.

Jay H. Lehr, PhD, is president of Environmental Education Enterprises, Inc. He is the founder of The Association of Ground Water Scientists and Engineers, former editor of the Groundwater Journal, and author of fifteen books and over 500 articles. His pioneering work in groundwater hydrology in the 1970s and ’80s led to the first major innovations in aquifer modeling, water well siting, and drilling technologies since the nineteenth century.

Reviews

(CHOICE, February 2005) "The gems of the book are the case studies…[they are] interesting and informative." (E-STREAMS, February 2005) "Geologists who are au courant will…leap at the new paradigms set forth. The rest of us may well find that the book radically changes our ideas about water." (U.S. Water News, February 2005) "…details applications and results of proven 21st century technologies and geological concepts adapted from the oil, gas, and mineral exploration industries…" (Journal of the American Water Resources Association, December 2004) "Highly recommended for anyone interested or involved in water resource development, this book presents a promising new method-the megawatershed paradigm-to help exploration geologists discover and develop vast stores of groundwater…" (Water & Wastewater, October 2004)
