About the Author

Evgeniy Zheleznyak was born in Moscow in 1951. He wishes it to be known, however that 'prior to his birth he was a Prisoner of Conscience for nine months in his mother's womb.' He is a deeply religious person and has been involved in the Russian Orthodox Church since childhood. He has been a prolific writer and student of the arts for his entire adult life. His passions include Philosophy, Literature, Music, Art, Theology and of course, Poetry. His work in the Russian language displays an almost encyclopaedic vocabulary and it is only now, through the good offices of his close friend Denis Shudrenko that the English speaking world is to be allowed to benefit from the depths of his intellect. His chosen medium in this book is the Limerick but here it is used not just in humour but as a commentary on human life. He is married with two daughters, one in Moscow and the other in Canada. Evgenyi's creed is to follow Galileo Galilei's principle: The task of the thinker is not to refute current knowledge, but to improve his own mind as instrument of cognition. That is why Galileo didn't spend his time trying to gain acceptance as a philosopher or specialist in art or literature.
