About the Author

Katherine Grainger is Great Britain's finest female rower and the most decorated one, too, with four Olympic Games medals - one gold - eight World Championship medals (six gold) and more than a dozen rowing World Cups. But Katherine is more than just a star on the water, she is highly intelligent, having earned an Honours law degree from Edinburgh University, Master of Philosophy degree from Glasgow University and, whilst training for the London 2012 Games, was stuyding for a PhD at King's College, London. Katherine has yet to decide about continuing her rowing career and winning a second gold medal at Rio 2016, her fifth Olympic Games. She lives in Maidenhead, on the banks of the River Thames, and is much in demand as a public and motivational speaker.
